Difference Between US Spec Evo 9 and Japan spec
Never realized the sprayer was only on the VIII's. Removed mine early on since it had little effect on performance and added a ton of weight to the very front of the car. IIRC a few people used the switch to change between fuel modes (E-85 vs. 100 Octane vs. 91 for example)
Curious about the weight distribution and balance of the RHD vs. LHD of JDM/USDM

The intercooler sprayer was only on the '03 Evo 8 in the US (not sure about other markets). There is a switch next to the shifter for the system that is set to either 'auto', manual spray', or 'off' and the reservoir is on the drivers side of the engine bay near the air filter. The later evos ('04+) do not have the system because the ACD reservoir sits in the same location as the sprayer reservoir, and the ACD is definitely the more useful system of the two.
There are threads that talk about the effectiveness of the system and the gains are minimal (mostly non-existent). Most people just remove it when they upgrade their intercooler.

04's did have them, i do have an 04 with the intercooler sprayer, 05 is the year that the 8's got the ayc pump.
