Hey guys i just picked up my 2nd evo 8mr! anyways the car is great, stock turbo though but has all the tasteful mods with headwork ect (only running 202kw).
One issue the (i just dropped it off at the mechanics but maybe this happened to you)
so i picked up the car on tuesday and everything was fine, but on last thursday when i was driving the car would hit boost then just wouldn't move (as hard as it was before) and it would just engage screamer. it feels like there is a boost leak or maybe something else.
I will find out what the issue is on wednesday or something but has anyone had any issues like that?
Car looks sharp! It sounds like you're saying the car has an external dump, and the wastegate is opening up on you when it shouldn't be. Is that correct? Is it still doing it? about ur issue, do a boost leak test. chances are u will find a few.
then log ur car for knock, sounds like a high knock issue,
and get a good tuner for it, he can point u to the right direction..

well my mechanic got back to me today.
he put the car on the dyno and it only made 60kw... he did a boost leak test etc, and there was no issue even took all the piping apart. nothing wrong..weird hey, so next tuesday its getting a LINK ecu and a retune done, also adding a AFR GAUGE and might just up the fuel pump to a 460..spewing man already looking at 4k + but what can you do...

Sounds like the turbo is dying. Mine did that d/t the wheels hitting the housing. It finally went *boom*.
i really hope not the car was fine for 3 days nek minute that happen , my mechanic would’ve said it was the turbo straight up... in a lost position as of now
