Having a problem with tactrix openport 2.0
So recently I’ve come across a problem with my 2008 Evo X which requires me to have my car tuned, I bought a tactrix openport 2.0 but I cannot seem to get it to connect properly, I’ve installed all the drivers correctly but the problem I have is that it will only work for about 15 seconds until cutting out randomly, but when I unplug the USB from my laptop and plug it back in, it works for another 15 seconds but cuts out again. I have emailed tactrix about my problem and they asked me to send in my openport to them to either repair or replace it, but tactrix has just emailed me saying that there was nothing wrong with my openport and it was working normally for them, I’m honestly just super frustrated and super confused and I seriously just don’t know what to do about this because I really need to get my car tuned but I can’t do that until I figure out what this issue is.

Ive tried to make a connection when the car is both running and with the key in the “on” position. I need the tactrix to be able to be connected while my car is running because I need to use it to datalog with evo scan.

Assuming your alternator is good ,you can probably rule out "low voltage" as the culprit, also assuming nothing is wrong with the cable.
I can't remember hearing of someone initially connecting, then automatically disconnecting.
Sounds kinda like a problem with the laptop ,maybe. Have you tried a different computer?

Give this a shot:

Depending on your version of Windows it may be suspending the Tactrix to save power. That would explain why it connects fine and then drops.
