They run EvO's hard & put away wet, in the UK, as well as we do here

The poor MR looks like its had some interesting mods & likely numerous owners

That gauge cluster is a trip. Safe to assume that's not stock on Evo's in any country? Its interesting, because it looks well made.

I probably wouldn't trust the mileage its saying

if it was an MR shouldn't the ebrake have the CF overlay?

The VIN is correct, that car is an import from Japan (they still used CT9A-xxxxxx VINs). Japan didn't have the MR340/360 series, so that's out. All of the Japanese cars had the standard "276 hp".
CT9A-040 series is indeed an Evo IX, non-MR. The Japanese spec Evo IX GSR had the 6 speed, which is exactly what you have.
