Fuel rail spacer
Hi all,
When I put my engine back together again a year ago I couldn’t find the fuel rail spacers so I just used some washers to make one. Of course I wasn’t exactly sure how tall the original ones were so I guessed. I’m thinking that I might have an injector leak issue tho and this might be part of the issue. Does anyone have one lying around they can measure for me by any chance?? I can’t get ahold of one right now (special order everywhere) and I really want to try to solve this leak this weekend.
The Mitsubishi part number is MD095402.
Thanks!
S.

You definitely want to get the proper spacers for this. You won't get the proper spacing and pressure with washers alone.
This is not a good place to cheap out. A boost leak around the injector seals or any fuel-related leaks could easily lead to engine failure or worse. Spend the $20 on spacers now to save yourself from more expensive failures later.
I also recommend performing a boost leak test after seating the fuel rail. I had boost leaks around the injector seals every other year until I machined the Mitsubishi spacers down by about 0.5mm to put more pressure on the injectors. Those injector seals tend to dry out and shrink over time.

STM has them available, I'm sure they can get them to you quicker than the dealer.
