Attempted Theft
Hello,
I own a Evo 9. Last week it had someone attempt a theft. Broke a rear window and destroyed my ignition. The key will no longer fit into the ignition as they bent it to hell.
Trying to get a grasp on what I'll need to repair. As far as I know the ecu is intact. As well as the immobilizer module. Will my key fit a 'new' ignition? I know the chip in the key is used to match the immobilizer code. Just am not sure if all Evo keys are made the 'same' to fit any Evo key- in turn fitting in any ignition. Meaning will a dealership need to match a whole new key to my immobilizer & ecu etc.
Thanks.

Hey, first of all, welcome aboard the EvOM boards
Yeah, im not too sure on the ignition switch issue. Sounds like you need a new one (not sure how that works. Sounds expensive & dealer related?)
Ive heard a tuner can turn off the chip function, in the ECU, to these fancy keys
