Evo 6 electrical problem
Evo 6 electrical problem
I Have an evo 6 that has some problems with the interior wiring,
the light that tells you a door is open doesnt work, and the high beam indicator on the cluster also doesnt work.
the clock lights up but displays no time - its just blank.
The central locking doesnt work.
the heater fans dont work, and the whole car resets everytime i turn it off (a/c settings reset and car rises in idle as if it were a cold start) i have tried a new cluster, put a whole new dash loom in, new fuse box, all new fuses and none of it has helped. What else could it be?

Do you have an Evo 6 wiring diagram?
This is one of those things that will surely be an easy fix (bad ground) but it will definitely be work to locate it. Luckily, you have a few yes/no lights to give you some ideas.
First, do you have a good bulb in the high beam socket? Can you confirm this by simply swapping it with another KNOWN GOOD bulb? Second, (and excuse me because it's probably been about 15 years since I last looked at my E5 stuff which is long gone now) iirc you're able to remove the backing plate to expose the clusters wiring connections (printed circuit board stuff) now... since you swapped clusters we COULD... ASSUME that that wiring is in tact and hasn't failed on both clusters, so then... lets move further backwards to the pin on the instrument cluster harness that gives a signal for power for the high beam light... are you getting power there when the high beams are engaged? Is the physical stalk on your steering console providing power for that light? Do your high beams work at all?
You see where I'm going with this...
