If your main concern is keeping the lhd hid light beam you can simply swap your usdm projectors into the rhd headlights, basically making them jdm/edm lhd hid headlights

yes, that's the option but paying over $1000 for headlights that I have to modify is what I don't like lol

Actually... this is pretty exciting. Suppose someone wanted to make their existing USDM setup mint/new looking again. You could easily just transfer the glass/plastic to your current one. I'm actually considering this lol.

Is there an advantage with using the EDM headlight versus USDM? Don't over seas headlights point the wrong way, seeing we drive on the right side // they drive on the left?

Yes the rhd lights point the wrong way, hence why I suggested swapping projectors. No advantage other than looking awesome, it is a purely cosmetic mod.

correct. and for anyone with non-HIDs, this is fantastic.

i imagine things won't always be in production, so grab them while you can.

Ah I see. So you can either swap your projectors into the EDM ones, or swap the plastic lens into your USDM for the "new" look.

Sucks there is no aftermarket alternative. Eventually all stock will sell out. I tried starting a thread regarding some sort of alternative https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...placement.html , but I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting out of it.

If by "lens" you mean the amber/clear corner pieces, you can't swap those they are slightly different shapes and will not fit.

No, you cannot swap the corner pieces. If you look closely at a usdm and jdm headlight you'll see what I mean. The top amber usdm corner piece is smaller than the clear jdm top piece, and the bottom usdm clear piece is larger than the amber jdm bottom piece.

It may be possible to swap the entire plastic black housing piece that the corner pieces attach to but I do not know for sure if it will fit the usdm housing perfectly.

This is all stuff i would like to learn and share in a video if i didn't have to go broke doing it.

I have almost everything single CT9A tail light option in my possession for a video and it cost me like $2500. If i tried with headlights is would be like $10,000. lol

let me know if i can help in some way. i've now cycled through 4 types of headlights - non-hid (ix gsr), usdm hid (ix mr), jdm ("true" jdm from japan), and now edm (uk hid's). i dont have all of them all now, but i will certainly update in this thread if the edm one and the jdm one are the same.

Thanks. Do you still have them all in your possession?

I have a USDM 8 HID set, USDM 9 MR HID driverside, and a USDM 9 non-hid driverside.
