New to the forum
Hey all,
I’m relatively new to the forum as of about a month ago. I used to have an 05 RS about 7 years ago now that unfortunately got totaled in Maryland on I95. Maybe one of y’all got lucky and found it at the junk yard in Bethesda, MD lol. Anyway just dropping in to say hello to all and see if anyone had any recommendations as to find another evo to purchase! I’m not yet allowed to post or comment in the classified section but am in love with that BBY one out in AZ

Forum is not what it once was...still best repository of Evo info out there! Plus a bunch of you diehards actually know stuff, super handy. Hell, I'm back here more and more lately for the simplicity and lack of utter stupid. Granted you prolly find a car easier on FB. So weird that I bought mine from Ebay...
Thank you for the promp responses. I appreciate the input from y'all. If anyone knows how to get in touch with the seller KTP6, from Arizona, I am willing to fly out from South Florida to purchase the Blue 03. I can't post on his marketplace thread!! I need help lol

In the old days there was a constant wealth of information flowing in and out of forums and you could easily search through and have the answer to a question you need (usually). Build threads were detailed and had tons of pictures.
Now with social media there's just a picture of some guys built motor and a couple of sentences on it and that's it. You can't go to facebook or something and search to dig up information, you have to ask it again and have random guys comment on it. Frankly I could do without knowing what the people I'm talking to on the internet look like.
And since a lot of the younger guys grew up with facebook/instagram/whatever they'll prefer to stick to it rather than go back to a superior format because it's what they know.
People can move out of that Hellhole if they want though.

And yes: Social Media sucks in just about every single way. This includes working as a source to collect and distribute good info. Luckily, this board is still up and is searchable for any possible thing you would need for a CT9A chassis. Also, on the rare occasion you can't find it, there are still a few people left who can help. Once those guys decide to leave the platform, forum, etc then who knows.
Social media may be the future, but it's not a very good one.
Welcome to the forum, zak. As the others have said there's been a sharp decline thanks to social media but this is honestly a huge repository of knowledge on this platform. I watched the demise of DSMtalk and am watching the same of this board. My local auto-x group was discussing this the other day where we all only have facebook for car things but there's nowhere to go back to as the noobs don't like forums and searching for information. Basically we agreed that "search, noob" was bad and so was their laziness in actually helping themselves. I actually really like the fact that I can go into the motorsports section and know there's a solid group of guys still frequenting this forum and pushing the platform further. There may not be many of us left on here but those that are active are solid.
