Boost leak at valve cover

Hi, I did a boost leak test and noticed I was getting air coming from the valve cover. Air is coming from the nipple that normally goes to the air intake with a hose. I discounted the pvc valve, still happening. The way I have the boost leak tester set up is, directly connected to the air intake. Reason I did it this why is because I'm still running stock bov and intercooling piping, I want to see if its leaking at all the connections, that's why I didn't go straight to the turbo compressor housing. Any thoughts why this is happening?

air going down intake, into cylinders, past piston rings... into case then back up the oil galleys to the valve cover... then out the vent

I believe the hose on the valve cover near the camshaft position sensor connects to the intake hose. So if you're pressurizing it from the intake it's going to blow into the valve cover.
Mine didn't have it on when I bought it so I can't say for sure.

Thanks for the replies.
I have the hose clamped and the nipple is unplugged.
How is it getting to the cylinder, past the throttle body?

If air didn't bypass the throttle body, the car wouldn't start or idle.

Air goes through.

How much psi are you guys holding when doing a boost leak test? I'm at about 18psi before it starts dropping.
