What part is this?

Sorry for the rookie question, but wondering what this line is on top of exhaust manifold.

Also the purpose of it. It seems when people upgrade the exhaust manifold it gets deleted? I dont see it much.

Pretty sure that is the SAS. Secondary Air System. Something to do w/a anti lag system. Dont think the USDM got that system

lol yeah I'm definitely new to the 4g63. Learning as I go! Hard to learn when you notice no one around you has a SAS system hahahaha.

Just a heads up - removing the SAS is a little more complex.
It's tied into the EGR system, so if you delete SAS - You need / should delete EGR while you're at it.

thanks for the info! Yeah I haven't been back to the garage but most likely I'll be deleting it. I'm soon going to upgrade the manifold so thanks for heads up ill knock out both egr and sas.

Ive got the OE manifold with flat spots where that is tapped to.

Always wondered why it was made like that.......
