My car would never pass CA smog. I'd have to change quite a bit of stuff. Screw that. 😆

so your car not registered? I was planning on keeping my car for track use only, after bought new home the HOA doesn’t allow the trailer, and don’t want to deal with that, now I want to use My Evo 9 as daily.
the **** parts about it, I got Turbo kits made, with xona rotor 6157s 63.a.r Vband, look flashy, but that aren’t going to pass smog, bought Plazmaman with theirs 66mm throttle body and that aren’t going to pass smog lol that maybe going for sale, got too much stuff that won’t be use now that the suck part

Hell no. I love it here. Nowhere else interests me.

My car spends most of its time out of state so is registered and insured there. Permanent reg, so I never have to buy tags.

@Kaj lucky you, I was thinking about that too, ATL register when my brother retired from Marines, he already got house there, no state tax after he retired and cheaper to live.

The way it works is your just grandfathered in to the regulations that existed when your car was built. Personally I'm hoping when the vast majority of cars on the road are electric it will go down like it did in Washington. They just declared mission accomplished and dismantled their testing regime. Now it's just kind of on the honor system there (AFAIK).

Oh it will happen. My concern is what will CARB morph into. You think they will just die? Or will they just tax the crap out of ICE vehicles like they do a pack of cigarettes. Or.... will they come up with kind of super ridiculous individual flatulence tax.

Oh it is time for your bi-annual flatulence test.

Yes on a national level probably so as tax funds will be needed to generate a new green energy infrastructure. EV production is the easy part. Figuring out how it will tie in transcontinentally will be the challenge and require coordination. If Mitsubishi had developed a hybrid sporty platform I think they would have been in the game.
At least until an EV platform is developed.

If EV owners think they won't be taxed, once everyone is basically required to own one, they have another thing coming.
Right now it's great. Rebates. Incentives. Tax breaks. Relatively cheap electricity. it's like how a crack dealer gives out free crack to get everybody hooked. LOL they're gonna trap us all in EVs, then start charging crazy fees for stupid stuff like they do with ICE. Environmental impact fees from battery disposal, increased power rates, Blah blah.

Just wait. They'll get their money.

One thing I am curious to see is how the oil companies respond all this. They have a lot of power.

Right aren't sales people great? They will promise all kinds of incentives to get you hooked. Most businesses are that way. Government is no different. Like I said the nation development hasn't really started yet to achieve how this will all tie in. Oil companies with their great wealth will have to adapt to these changes or die. Just like tobacco companies had to diversify. Middle east will definitely be at a loss when their No. 1 commodity is no long needed at it's current volume.
