My new '02 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII GT-A

After 3 weeks of looking and multiple failed bids later, I interduce you my first Evo, 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII GT-A it's a auction grade R with interior B, it has a small rear end repair history but overall very clean car, it has just under 84,000 kms, and it comes with Work XD9 Emotion wheels. You might be wondering why I didn't get a manual, I couldn't find a vehicle that was in my price range to get a manual especially with a 20k budget. I do plan on doing a manual swap in the future so at least that makes up having a automatic during the mean time. Can't wait for this car to arrive to Canada! If you have any suggestions what I should do engine wise let me know.

Current Plans:
OOP inspection
DRL
Tires (if needed)
All fluid change
Air filter replacement
Spark plug change
Timing Belt Kit
Under coating (prevent rust)

Future Plans:
Complete manual swap (if automatic goes out on me)
Stock wheels
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Oil catch can

GSR recaro front seats

Engine mods depend on how much power you are targeting and how much budget you are willing to spend. When still AT, cannot mod for too much increase in power.

BTW for 7 I suggest keep the rear bumper to keep the originality of it and IMHO the 9 curvy style rear bumper won't match the front squarish bumper of the 7. I notice for older Evos, the value is higher if still retain the stock look with just very minor add ons at max. So keeping a 7 still looking as a 7 I think is better. What I would suggest instead is adding a Varis front lip and maybe some CF side skirt & rear apron extension.

Anyway congratulations on the purchase, car looks nice.

Pre-emptive rust war, I know the roads you have(me from the North) and they absolutely mauled my underside...on the old chassis. Do something durable.

yea keep the exterior 7, dont "upgrade" to viii/ix it will only mess up the look and take away from originality. Its an evo 7 GTA. keep it that way.

Yup, 7 GSR stuff are good especially the front Recaro seats, much better fit and support to the body.

Some inspiration for you.
