Hey all

Currently I have the Tomei Expreme ti catback and its pretty loud. i'd like to quiet up a bit.

has anyone ran the STM stainless steel catback? any idea how it compares to the Tomei?

 

It's a lot heavier than the Tomei and will sound different. Quieting down an exhaust is very subjective. The STM exhaust doesn't have a resonator and if you're running a full 3 inch turbo back it's still gonna be loud - just not as loud as the Expreme Ti. Then again, I don't think Evos are terribly loud to begin with unless you're going WOT tearing through gears with an open dump or a full- blown race Evo.

 

I have the STM exhaust with ultra quiet resonator cat.Cruising its not bad at all and sounds nice at WOT.

 

Figured I would update this if anyone was planning to do this.

The STM is about half as loud as the tomei, and has a much deeper sound.

 

Thanks for the follow-up and PM. I was hoping the big Tomei muffler would do a better job vs the Vibrant "ultra quiet resonator" that STM uses in their rear section. I guess there's a reason almost everyone says the Tomei Expreme Ti is very loud.
