Cleaning around intake manifold

Had a little mishap and now there’s oil on top of the intake manifold. Is it ok if I cover the fuse box, intake, and then with the garden hose, spray down angled over the intake manifold to get rid of all the oil that got on top?

i just figured it would be hard to reach with brake cleaner. I’ve had the engine bay steam cleaned before with no problems but hose is obviously different

I can understand being adverse to spraying the engine but its really no problem. I just spray things down with megs heavy duty APC and let sit for a few min then spray off. An electric pressure washer can be nice for this since they put out more pressure than volume and hit the spots hard to reach.

I do it frequently to keep things clean so if I need to work on it or track down a leak I'm not fighting grime.

careful with the pressure washer and the firewall 'cloth'. I use my tire sprayers for quick/spot washes. I have one for degreasing

yea... lets be careful with a pressure washer in the engine compartment.
i would recommend just a hose.

high pressure water will get alot more places then just a water hose with a sprayer handle.

I high pressure up close, sure. But an electric pressure washer back 2ft is less actual pressure to ingress into connectors. Its pretty much a mist stream at that distance.

I pressure wash more for the air/mist as well, just enough to blow off ziptie tails etc then some leaf blower lol clean and dry is a good time to inspect stuff

For future reference, I also warm the engine up first to help water evaporate quicker off stuff.
