AEM x series 4 bar boost gauge question

Hello,

I am currently getting my evo 8 built. When all is said and done it will be set between 500-550hp as a dd on e-85. I’ve got AEM x series gauges for oil pressure and AFR, so I am looking to stick with that line so everything matches. A couple of questions:

What are some of your opinions about this gauge?

What amount of boost will be required for that hp?

I ask that question so I make sure to get the correct range gauge. Right now I was figuring on the 4 bar gauge.

Thanks very much!

I am unsure what your setup will be but either a 3 or 4 bar gauge would be enough for a 550 whp setup.
3 bar is about 43psi and 4 bar is about 58 psi.

I run a built 2.0 with an FP Red on E85 and make about 580whp at 37 psi for reference.

That helps a lot. All the x series gauges below the 4 bar go up to 35 psi they say. The next higher one is the 4 bar that goes from 30-60psi I just don’t want to get a gauge that I end up maxing out.

my setup is built 2.0 with a Borg Warner s366sx twin scroll on e85 as well.

Yea, that 4 bar gauge should be a good plenty for your planned setup. I'd anticipate mid-30s for your setup to get where you are trying to go.
