When I started compiling back in March I could only go as far back as September 2022.

Hit the 1000 Evo Xs milestone on the spreadsheet!
That's 4.50% of all Evo Xs in the USA.

The world will end before prices on JDM classics like Evo IX will come down.

I found this spreadsheet to be very helpful. Looks like if I want an Evo IX with less than 50K miles and not heavily modded I'll have to put up at least $50K. Ever since I had a chance to drive my friend's Evo IX I've wanted to get one but I don't want any of these ex-racer / project cars. I wish more people just took it easy with the mods on these cars.

I wish people would put mods worthy of being on an evo ix. These cars and jdm cars in general were all about their mods and the ability they unleashed after the correct mods. Unfortunely 90 percent of modified cars aren't done correctly, use cheap unreliable cookie cutter parts. I cannot for the life of me understand why people get into these cars if they aren't financially prepared/have the dedicated time to do it properly. Hopefully those clowns get weeded out soon. It's mostly US based evos. Uk/euro/Japan seem to know what they're doing when it comes to mods.

I'm OK with basic mods like intake/exhaust/boost controller/tune, etc as long as quality parts are used. Where I steer away is when people start doing custom cams, stroker kits, big turbos or replacing key parts of the car with "built" parts that may or may not be better than OEM...and you never really know the quality of work that was put into it so a stack of receipts doesn't really translate to "as good as factory warranty". I get that some people like the novelty of a 700 WHP Evo but it's not my thing.

Completely agree, I'm not on board with anything over 550hp. It's steering away from the originality of what an evo is supposed to be.

Got around to updating the dashboard. I think it's easier to navigate.

You can check them out here https://lookerstudio.google.com/s/pmmU16esKi4 , but to summarize...
- Prices max out at $25k, these are typically 9s with relatively lower miles
- Majority of them are around $17k - 20k
- Prices bottom out at $15k, these have high miles or Evos that need some other work

With the year coming to an end, we now have enough data to start seeing some concrete stats. Time to solve the age-old questions, is electric blue actually the rarest color for the 9? Is gray the most common? Yup.
  • Electric Blue
    • 7-9%
    • 574 - 738 USDM manufactured
  • Rally Red
    • 9-11%
    • 738 - 902 USDM manufactured
  • Wicked White
    • 12-15%
    • 984 - 1238 USDM manufactured
  • Apex Silver:
    • 17-20%
    • 1394 - 1640 USDM manufactured
  • Tarmac Black
    • 20-22%
    • 1640 - 1804 USDM manufactured
  • Graphite Gray
    • 28-31%
    • 2296 - 2542 USDM manufactured

Link to report for colors
