Front caliper bolts stripped

so I was taking off my driver side front caliber, and noticed that the bolt was stripped and the threads were all messed up. I was looking around the forms but couldn’t seem to find anything about this. I’m sure somebody has had this problem before. Someone recommended using a heilcoil. Just trying to figure out the best way to go about fixing this.

personally i'd find a used caliper or upgrade to evoX brakes. I dont trust my helicoil jobs especially on something I would unbolt/bolt up frequently

Heli coil and new bolts will work fine. If you are not confident a machine shop could do it for you. Ends up being stronger than the original threads due to the greater dia of the Heli coil engaging more aluminum than the bolt did. Stainless steel used in the coil is stronger than aluminum threads.

Don't use a helicoil. Heavily loaded items should use a timesert, they're stronger

Heli Coil is stronger than the OEM threads, no point in going stronger. As long as the connection is tight the friction in the joint is stronger than the shear strength of the bolt. So the threads are no even loaded by the forces in the caliper just the tension in the bolt.
