The Hood won't close with hood shocks

I bought this car and it had these shocks. Hopefully, you can see in the pictures that it won't close all the way. I see people running them at car shows and have no s no issues. What am I doing wrong?

Don't see any pictures. Might want to try and re-upload them.

On the top portion of the dampers, you have them reversed. That little ball joint should be facing outside. Actually I think they're completely reversed. The right one should be on the left and the left on the right. I even see an "R" on the damper you put on the driver side which should be left.

Thanks I didn't see that. I switched them and it still doesn't close. I feel like the tabs are to be.

Does it close properly with the gas springs off the car?

Never thought of taking them off so u did and it still sits high. How would I got about getting the hood lined up? Is the good latch adjustable?

Check your hood bumpers? Although I don't see why that would change if it wasn't touched, same goes for the latch. Weird.

There are two rubber stoppers on the radiator support that can be threaded in and out to adjust how high up they support the hood. If you thread them in and the hood doesn't go lower see if you can lower the latch as mentioned above.

It's saying to loosen up the hood hinge and adjust it from there. How will that help with the issues I'm having? How do I slide the hood downward? If so wouldn't the hood overhang?
