Looking for some possible help. Recently finished putting a new built long-block into my Evo 5 and got a base map installed but I’m having an issue where the car won’t start or stay running without giving it throttle. Ive checked all the sensors and have installed a new throttle body with brand new stepper motor but no luck still. Was seeing if there’s something I’m missing?

 

• Check the idle control valve

 

I don't know a ton about the 5's, but on the 8/9 you have to set the BISS screw correctly. That could be your issue as well.
