Did anyone had an issue with Eagle crank on evo 8? I put the engine together for a friend and in the break in period it had thrust bearing failure and crank walk. During disassembly I notice that the surface on the crankshaft is so small that almost not covering the thrust bearing. Did I get a wrong crank from the begging or what is going on? I called eagle and they said they never change the design on the crankshaft for the last 10 years. The surface on the crank is so small that does not have a full thrust to seat against and thats why it had a failure. I compared eagle crank to oem crank that I have in the shop and oem crank has much bigger surface so it is covering fully the thrust bearing. Did anyone had similar problem?
