dose anyone have the fatuous catch can ? if you got any pics that would be nice trying to see how nice it fits above the light and im deciding if I should get that or the
So I can be of no assistance on the picture front, but if I can make a suggestion I would go with Radium. I'm new to Evo's so I have no experience using it on the 4G63, but on the rotary platform they are the first name spoken in instances like this. I ran their fuel kit and catch can setup on my FD for 6 years without a hiccup at 450hp on a BW 8374

Same here - I went with Radium. Incredible quality and fit. I recommend paying extra for the drain pipe. I went cheap on it and then realised that to drain it I need to take everything off
I know what you mean man its killing me I don't want to spend more then 175 tbh im thinking about just getting the moroso and then im just gonna tap a hole I the can and weld an 6 or 10 an fitting because I think it only comes with one an liner.. or just get a Y splitter and run one to the Y AN then to the side and rear of the vc.do you know what I mean?
its so crazy to pay so much money for a freeking coke can and a stone filter.ya I know that aos have a little more stuff to them. but still way to expensive for what it is why buy 2 cans for 300 or 400 when I can just buy one and get a splitter or welt an an fitting on?
Good catch cans generally aren't cheap because there is a fair amount of development time in making effective baffling. Lots of guys stuff steel wool in empty cans and wonder why they still have crankcase pressure issues.
There is a balance between flow and filtration, good flow helps evacuate pressure better but too much filtration can kill flow. The cans we use have a diverter plate behind the inlet port to force the incoming gases to go to the bottom of the can and then they have to flow upwards through a triple baffle plate system. Also, people tend to be willing to pay a bit more for a bolt on solution versus buying a universal product and cobbling together a way to make it fit. I've debated making an Evo kit but not sure if there's much market for it.
@Stev-o-evo For our cars, you primarily want to prevent oil from going into the intercooler/piping. easy fix is this model, its long(also baffled) and fits the gap between the IC piping and the radiator mounting frame whatchumallit) you can cap the top and ziptie it to the IC piping. if you want you can add an extend hose so its easier to drain. use silicon hoses so it could be routed easiily
my system is oil-catch-&-return then finally vent-to-air(this is that final stage) ... before my rebuild I was worried about extracting too much oil and I want a lower maintenance solution. for me this catch can gets mostly water, but has a little oil
only pic i have of mine - sorry about the paper towel, i was trying to see if oil spews out. btw i added a spray paint cap around the breather.
I suggest to start cheap until you have an understanding of the issue you want to solve.

I dont know man. showy catch cans are just totally pointless. a lot of these guys are focused on the wrong thing. they can easily replace the vacuum line to the brake booster and gain space for a catch can behind the intake plenum but naahh they want to get creative with the welding, mounting, chroming (aka 'development') their work for everyone to see
and gah i hate AN fittings on these things lol

Note that I said good cans aren't cheap but that doesn't mean there aren't poor performing cans that are expensive haha. I'm pretty indifferent about AN hoses but we don't do them in our kits because it ultimately means the customer would have to pay more. If I do an Evo OCC kit it'll likely mount back on the passenger side of the firewall area since that keeps the hoses nice and short.

yup thats the best area for oil drain back also as long as its high enough for the dipstick. Also makes sure the catch can isnt in the way for even dropping the transmission.
here's the modified vacuum hose I made to make space. I use the EVAP vacuum port now.

I once fell for the hype and bought a high-end catch can for my car. It did its job, sure, but in hindsight, I realized I could've achieved the same results with a more budget-friendly setup. I discovered https://ausscasinosanalyzer.com/casi...rocketplay.com and realized that I could've used those funds to get more value and better experiences elsewhere.
I remember a friend who spent a fortune on an expensive catch can only to find it didn't make a significant difference compared to a cheaper alternative. He was kicking himself for not doing more research beforehand. So, my advice is to be smart with your money and look for practical solutions that don’t break the bank.
It's crazy how much some of these car parts cost, and often, they’re marked up just because of the brand name. I’ve been down that road too, spending a lot on parts that, in the end, didn't offer much more than the cheaper alternatives.
