Evo high output alternator 160AMP

Did anyone used those high output alternators? I found 160 amp alternator and I am interested to buy one of those. I have 2x walbro 450 pumps so the draw is 60amp on both pumps and I can see voltage drop on my data logger when second pump is turning on, and I am on stock 90 amp alternator. Thanks!!

I found this place they build a 175amp for the Evo. I have a STM alternator pulley on mine, 1200rpm is the minimum idle rpm with the STM pulley and Evospec water pump pulley. So far its been great

I don't run a high output alternator and have a double pumper. I don't see any voltage dip when my second pump kicks on.
I'd get your battery tested.

I have brand new battery. Are you running a 2x 450's pumps? . 1x 450 pump draw 30amp so both 60amp, honda/gtr coils 15amp and headlight/taillight/radio, and that 90amp is maxed out pretty fast. I think I will upgrade to higher amp alternator.

Great!! So you are running this alternator and stm pulley? What happen when you lower the rpm's with this pulley? will not charge at all?

Nah, I'm running 2x 255s and toyota coils. You can for sure give it a shot and see if it helps anything. Keep us updated!

I've been running this one for about a year with zero issues. I ordered it from rhdjapan & received it in LA in a couple days.

Its been powering my twin 525's & my IGN-1A coils like a champ.

I've been running the exact same alternator with no issues since April of last year. Daily driven car. I also ordered it from RHDJapan.

No worries!

The thing about rhdjapan is that they have a stock check feature so they can tell you the availability & confirm the ETA to ship before you even order. I would recommend making an account, hit the stock check feature under My Account, enter the sku & wait a day or two. They'll reply with availability so you dont have to risk ordering something and having to wait 6+ months after your money is spent lol.

Correct the STM pulley slows the alternator so you have to run higher idle rpm to compensate for the reduction

Did either of you upgrade the wiring to the alternator?

I went 0/1 power wire as well & made a matching 0/1 ground from the alternator body to the front of the passenger shock tower next to the ac line bracket.

I also went a bit overboard & replaced everything else in 0/1 too lol car runs great tho!

I'm looking to upgrade to a higher output alternator as well like this. Did you guys have also change the fusible link at the same time to accomodate this alternator?
