Where to find Hood Vent Seal?

I recently took my hood vent to get powdercoated since it was looking really ugly and noticed that I have a slight issue now.

I am trying to look for the rubber seal for the hood vent but I can only find people selling it with the vent.

Does anyone know where I can buy the rubber seal for the hood vent? Is there a seperate part number or an online store that carries stock?

Photo will be attached for reference, thanks

I bought a brand new one in the fall and the seal came with. Had no idea there was a seal until I opened the box. I do believe it only comes with the vent itself.

Yea that would make sense, from my research it seems that the seal only comes with buying the vent. A bit bummed out if I knew this before I would've just bought a new OEM hood vent.

Well I guess it gives me an 'excuse' to buy the RexSpeed Carbon Fiber hood vent. If anyone has any reviews about the rexspeed carbon fiber hood vent I would love to hear how it looks & fits.

I would rather spend $300 for the Rexspeed vent than spend $200 on an OEM vent, will have to decide but oh well.

I took mine off, and powder coated it also, but I put my original seal back on. I used a special adhesive for this and it worked great.

Oh okay gives me some peace of mind. I have 2 questions for you.

How did you remove the old adhesive from the seal? After that what special adhesive did you use to put it back on?

You know what... it's been so long that I don't remember how I removed it- but I probably heated it up with a heatgun and slowly rubbed it off carefully. This is how I typically work with adhesives and I do it this way religiously all of the time. My rule of thumb is that if it's not too hot for your skin- you aren't going to damage the material.

I use a 2 part urethane based adhesive that is activated like a 2 part isocyanate paint clearcoat would be. It is called "lord fusor". They have different speeds available. It works fantastic in high temperature, high vibration environments and has passed many OEM tests for securing un-identified plastics and rubbers. I even use this on high energy plastics that are solvent resistant (like polypropylene plastics)

I can confirm the seal only comes with the whole vent.
I tried to removed mine for powdercoat and reattach it but it never stuck on quite right so I ended up with a new OEM vent and seal last summer.

If you use the right adhesive- you won't have a problem.

Yea, I think that was part of my issue as well as the seal not getting very well cleaned so it sat a little weird on the vent.

I gave up when I found a new one available for a good price lol.

Good, glad you got it fixed. I have some of the adhesive left if anyone is trying to do this. Just message me.

Yea I ended up having the same issue. My old seal was all torn up and I attempted to remove the old adhesive however it just was not coming off.

I tried to order a new vent directly from the factory and I can also confirm it comes with the seal, unfortunately they are discontinued which means I will have to probably purchase one off eBay.

Thanks for all your guys responses & feedback.

Yea, when I got mine last summer, I was told it was the last new one the dealership was showing in the country.
I still have my old one if you'd be interested. The seal is in good shape, I could just never get it to sit right on the vent.
