Evo 8 balance shaft

Hey team, what is your opinion on keeping balance shaft with aftermarket crank, rods and pistons? Every single 4g63 that I build before and left my shop was with balance shaft delete. Currently I have a customer that desperately wants to keep balance shafts but I am installing callies crank, manley rods and manley pistons to this engine. My rule was always to keep balance shafts on stock internals engine and remove them on aftermarket internals. To my understanding if I change rotating mass to lighter or heavier than stock, balance shaft's will not do their job properly anymore. Any of you guys keep balance shaft's with upgraded internals with good results? Thanks!

I have the balance shaft installed with aftermarket rods and pistons. Has been that way for 20k ish and there hasn't been issues.

That said, I wish I would have deleted it when the motor was out just to eliminate the baby belt and possible failure point.

In my opinion it's just another thing to go wrong. Plus it's much easier to time the car without them, being one less mark to line up.

100% agree with you. I just have a customer that want me to install them, which I don't mind but my opinion is exactly like yours! I was always removing them on every build. Unless it is a stock unopened engine.

Yeah I can see using them or aftermarket ones they offer on indurance racing or gt style racing but for most of us waste of time.

I would recommend to them, remove the shafts. That small belt fails and takes out the main timing belt. I might have pictures from years ago.
