I can assure you its not the relay. If the car starts the relay is doing its job. At this point i guess you need to just wait and see when the pump arrives to see if that fixes the problem.

does your fuel pump prime on second click engine off? Some friends with Evo’s says it does, one said it doesn’t. I checked voltage at the connector to the fuel pump with key on, large white wire is 0V. One wire gets 5-6Vs with key on.

Depends on how its setup in the system. I have an IC-7 as a dash so all that crap is gone. Only thing cel lights go on for is catastrophic failure ****. My primary pump does go on and prime on key turn on. But it can be setup not to prime. It just primes on key turn on to crank. That is something you would have to look at in your ecu.

Well if you get the new pump and it doesn't prime I would say that its not setup to in your ecu.

Yea that’s fair. I keep seeing threads of others that prime and then there’s those that don’t. I’m just hoping this fixes my issue. If it doesn’t what else could it be?

They don't prime in stock configuration until the car is cranking.

Mine did back when I had my stock ecu way back when. Then once I had a different tuner it didn't prime anymore and now I am on a haltech it primes again.

I dont have a back seat so I can hear my pump prime every time, except after several failed attempts at starting the car - so it kinda messes up with the diagnosis lol

Thats strange? I don't think I have ever heard the pump prime unless I was cranking? I know that when I was testing fuel pressure, I had to crank it to get it to prime.
I'll have to pay attention when I get the car out later this week.

Fuel pump is set for Monday delivery. Hopeful but it’s good to know that some do have a prime and some don’t. Just wondering why it doesn’t for mine. Evoscan I can activate the pump and it’ll turn on.

I just thought of this but when was the last time you had your injectors cleaned?
