Ya know, when I first saw these I really didn't care for them, but now I am older and life has changed in many ways for me I think that will be a sweet *** project and I kinda wanna do one myself. I think with a few cool parts and maybe a small lift it could be a super fun winter car. At least thats what I would do to it.

Whats crazy is I never actually knew it existed until I was looking for an M3 Wagon either in the e30 or the e36 (conversion built). Now, I can't think of a better platform to build on. The plan is to build a era-specific OEM+ focused build. I'm definitely not lifting it, but also, I probably won't lower it. I'll have plenty of questions in the future, I hope you can help me get this old gal sorted with your years of experience.

Lol are you calling me old? I am not old I'm aged just like a fine wine that tastes like dog **** lol. I mean I am 48 going on 90 lol. Anyways, you need to figure out what your going to do with it. Grocery getter would be sweet. I mean think about how many groceries you can put in that bad mamma jamma. I think it would be cool with maybe a stock bottom end fp black or something that would make good power and a big lumpy cam lol. That would be epic lol. If it were mine I would do something like that or maybe a setup like I have on my evo with a medium size turbo make 5 to 600 whp big and lumpy and everyone looking at me like dude wtf lol.

haha naah not old age but Evo experience age. I am planning on a build to 400 ish, from the research that basically maxes out the stock evo 9 turbo, and when I replace it, ill get an FP (not sure color yet) and then retune to see where I'm at. I imagine at that point ill have all the support mods already installed.. except maybe a built top end, and at that point will see if 5-6 is worth the squeeze. I will see how fast i can drag a trunk full of groceries around the Nurburgring for sure!

O man! You lucky dog! I love those wagons and know that I'll never have 1 because US things.

My personal opinion is that the perfect setup on these is a single walbro 255, 1300cc ish injectors, e85, supporting stuff(cams, exhaust, etc) and like an FP Green/MHI 18k. It will make like 450-500whp and be a blast while keeping it simple. I loved my car when it was setup like that.

yea so far it’s been a couple good months of just searching, and hoarding parts. So far so good. Hardest part is trying to decide on wheels. I have my heart set on Work Meisters… but we will see how it plays out.

Got a set of Ohlins + Eibach springs suspension set, what is the consensus on this set up? Worth the swap over a set of BC coils? Or similar?

If you get a set of ohlins get rid of the Bilsteins for sure. Ohlins > over anything else for a road car.

That's a great riding setup, very similar to what I used to run. Only reason I switched away from that was because I got wheels that were "almost" the right size but I needed ride height control and a bit stiffer springs to avoid rub on large bumps and when loaded down.

They will likely ride better than the BCs but I don't have direct experience with the BC coils.

Those are Bilsteins and eibach springs. typically the Eibach springs are too soft and lower the car too far. Swift on the other hand ride very well with the Bilsteins and if you get the Spec-r will still ride nicely. But if you have the $$$ go for the Ohlins and their 8/9 kg springs.. With that wagon you are gonna want to carry stuff in teh back so dont even think of lowering it....

very sure the prices on these will skyrocket once they are US legal, especially considering de very low production numbers
