Evo 8 bolt on turbo
Evo 8 bolt on turbo
Hi, I'm looking to replace my stock turbo with something that can provide around 400whp.
The engine is built but the manifolds and everything around are stock, and I want to keep it that way so I'm looking for bolt on options.
The main goal is to keep the car street and fun to drive, a quickest spool possible.
I also came across Arashi turbos. Somebody tested them?

What fuel do you plan to run? I think thats a pretty big factor.
If pump gas, you'll need something FP Green or bigger. That is what I ran on my stock motor and it was a great turbo. 400hp on 91 and 500 on E85.
If you plan to run E85, you can probably get away with something like the FP HTA71. That will have a bit quicker spool than the green but will only touch 400 on E85.

Oop, that one wasn't an option when I was looking so I always forget about it. It is slightly smaller than the FP Green in terms of flow; 54 vs 57 lb/min. I would expect that to get you to that 400 number on 93.
I'd go dig around the dyno section for setups with that turbo to confirm though.
