MAP Sensor

Not too long i got myself an evo 9. The car is running perfectly, but i recently noticed that my MAP sensor is not connected. The sensor is there but no cable.
Should not the car run bad/throw check engine light? Any reason to not run it connected?

MAP or MAF?

If MAF, probably has a speed density tune and someone didn't replace the intake piping.
If MAP, I have no idea. It should cause tons of issues with all sorts of drivability and stuff if it isn't plugged in. Its possible they are using a different MAP connected somewhere else on the intake manifold?

Man, that's weird. I would start chasing the harness looking for where that plug is now. It seems possible that there is an aftermarket MAP somewhere and that's what is plugged in and what it is using.

I'd start by checking where all the vacuum lines on the intake manifold are going, if there is an aftermarket MAP, it has to be connected to the intake manifold somewhere.
