Evo Nostalgia

After almost 20 years of out of the game I found the opportunity to find an Evo again. Got lucky via online auction while the car sat in NJ impound for almost a year. Made my way back onto these forums to only find my account still existing and achieving a 20 year badge lol.

A highly sought after car found but now realizing parts are very scarce and difficult to find. None the less, I have my project car

The car needs some TLC — but for the most the part the body is intact and in decent condition. I think it was recently repainted. As for under the hood — will need some work. Does anyone know if there’s any existing shops in NYC that could check out this car for me? Even though it does drive — it will require a tune-up and a check-up all around.

Evo IX SSL - Tarmac Black

Things to do: Need Help
1. Engine Check (inc Turbo) - Tune Up
2. Transmission Check
3. T-Case Check
4. ADC Check
5. Doesn’t have AC - Need to source
6. Brembo Repaint and Seal

Thx.
Mr. Suaz

Also, here's some info for shops that still work on Evos... The one one i used, in West Chester, PA, is the real deal.

Finally took some pics

I've been able to source all the missing components.

Currently dealing with Electrical gremlins.
- sunroof doesn't open
- interior lighting
- clock and radio -- fixed fuses
- radio no sound

Missing parts - luckily I was able to source and buy. Just need to install.
- ACD
- AC Compressor
- Strut Bar
- Oil Cooler w/ lines and fittings
- OEM Plug cover
- OEM Floor Mats
- OEM Heat Shield

Overall the car is in pretty good shape. Going to get it to a shop soon to give it a thorough inspection.

Oye Loco! Welcome back! you had a Black Evo before too!
There's a couple of Evo shops in LI that you check out.
Ask Kenny for the shop he got his Evo tuned.
Chris is back with an Evo too, he's all the way out in LI too

dimeloooo --- yes man it's been a long time. I'm moving out to LI in the next month. A local shop will come in handy.

Wow! I just logged in yesterday after years out of the game and I got the 15 year badge! Lol I am also in NJ and am starting to poke around for a car to play with.
I haven't even seen an Evo on the road in years!

I'm staying in NY for the foreseeable future. I have kids now so I'm moving away from Queens and out to LI.

The Evo should be up and ready to go for Spring. Let me know and I'll be in attendance!

I just got a 2005 SSL. My sunroof also doesn't open, but I am afraid to mess with it, because for now it doesn't leak, and I don't care if it works I'm in a similar situation. I had a IX MR as my daily for 11 years, and now I'm back. Congrats on the find.
