Anyone else seen the 2003 models C&D?
So I come home yesterday at 2am and see C&D in a sealed plastic bag on my kitchen table. I open it up thinking "what the hell? I don't get Card & Driver." Anyway, it had a letter saying Crutchfield wanted to thank my by giving me a subscription...and what luck! It had news on all the 2003 cars for pretty much every car manufacturer sold in the US.
So I skim over a few then shoot towards Mitsubishi hoping against hope to see SOMETHING confirmed on the Evo for all you who are interested or intend to buy one. Anyway...basically they implied that we they were "looking forward to the Evo VII".
WTF? Seeing as how every other source has more or less confirmed the Evo VIII. Anyone else see this fraction of a paragraph?

Yes Hobie, I subscribe to Car & Driver and I've seen what you're talking about. They don't say **** about the Evo other than it will have around 250 HP, AWD, and then they show a pic of the Evo 7.
In this case, it's better to underspeculate than to overspeculate. The ones who say more HP and it ends up being less will look like dummies, the ones who say less horsepower and it comes with more will be praised.
As for VII vs. VIII, it's still a VII under the skin, right? With some upgrades. Besides, at the auto show they showcased the VII and said they were bringing it over. So C&D is just sticking to the facts for now.

The magazines are also a good month behind when it comes to printing, publishing info. They are only printing what they knew a few months ago. There is still a lot of speculation...there were even more unknowns a few months ago. We had no Vegas photos, no hot weather testing photos, no photos from Japanese magazines.

I need to go check my mail and see... good ol' freebie subscription... reminds me, I gotta go visit "the onion" again and win another stupid trivia question thing. Okay, it's not FREE... it's like 2 bucks for a year subscription. Hope that issue is in the mail... kinda want to see the "competition."
