For those who don't know, the One Lap of America has been in existence since 1992, but dates back to the early years of the famed Cannonball run. The event consists of a grueling tour of the US, where teams attend various tracks to compete for the best times. All vehicles are driven on spec tires and must be street legal (ie. registered tags & valid license). Those with the most points at the end of the series are declared the winner of the event and/or their own sub-classes. Although it's got to be fun, the level of competition is fierce and the travel time is rough on the car and drivers.

There are a few Evos entered in this years event (which is going on right now!) One of those Evos is the red shop Evo Vishnu Performance, piloted by none other than Paul Gerrard himself! So far, the Vishnu Evo has been doing great and Paul is driving the wheels off the car in an effort to thwart the mighty 600hp Porsches and factory backed efforts. The team could use your support of everyone in the area, so if you are local to the current or upcoming One Lap venue come out to spectate and support. The One Lap schedule is listed below:

I second what KK says.... GO OUT AND SUPPORT THE EVOS if you can make it! It is tough to truly understand how grueling this event is until you smell the competitors - I mean see the competitors yourself. If you see them, bring them a snack - or a drink, you'd be suprised how needed that is. Shiv and Paul have been sharing the same bag of Tostitos for 4000 miles and using rest stops as showers. He was relieved to use my admitedly spartan shop bathroom (he was in there for like 45 minutes - we were going to call an ambulance ) So go show some support! Lets show the factory backed, heavy hitter, deep pocket exotics that our lil' 4 door can hang with the best!

Sorry I couldn't crew for you at HPT, was on the road myself that weekend... certainly didn't look like you needed any track advice from me though... way to tear up the home track with the outright win!

 

I think we can unstick this one now....since the event has come and gone....and Shiv's Evo piloted by Chronohunter came in 5th!
