Shift Knobs???!!! (counterweighted?)

It looks really nice IMO--matches the silver on the steering wheel, gauge cluster, and instrument panel (if you have that piece) very well. Heck, it's still for sale too in that thread I posted earlier. I would consider it if I hadn't gotten the Razo piece already.
I have the Greddy Counter-weighted shift knob. It's pretty heavy, smoother shifting, and fits pretty well. I guess I didn't pay enough attention, I didn't think there was a gap between knob/boot. This will be the first summer since I've had it on so I haven't felt the hand burning sensation yet, from sitting my car out in the sun.

I've been looking to get a new shift knob as well. Problem is, it's really hard to judge what it'll look like from the auto sites. This is the perfect guinea pig scenario
Like some other posters on this thread, I'd appreciate pics of the aftermarket ones.
And I agree from my friend's BMW (with a heavy shift knob), the heavier ones do feel like they shift better (IMO).

Thanks denial for posting that pic, it really does look great with the instrument surround and with the interior period
. If I had the evo right now, the guy selling those items would've been PMed.

I like my shift knob. Voodoo counterweighted in the magnum size with the pearl coating. Someone on this site was selling them a few months ago. It doesn't get too hot in the sun, and it is a HUGE improvement over stock. The stock shift knob was too small for my hands and light as a feather compared to any aftermarket knob.
some of you make it sound like the shiftknob is a performance item, could it really make that much of a difference? i mean, paying upward of $100 for a metal ball sounds kind of absurd to me.
Heavier knob = smoother shifting (to an extent). The heavier knob acts like a counter weight and helps to provide momentum to the shift lever when shifting. The overall effect is a smoother shift.
That being said, whether or not it's worth 100 bucks is up to you. I personally spent 40 on my Razo piece (which was worth it IMO).
EDIT:
Here's a link to the shift knob I have:
http://www.optauto.com/webstore/prod...=yes&dept=3201
It matches the interior very nicely, especially with the black chrome finish.
