What Should I Buy??

I currently have about 450 dollars that i can use on my EVO, so what should I get with that money? I have looked at BOV's SS Brake Line, and some other little stuff. The one item that got my attention was the Ntercooler. That is the system where it sprays Nitrous on your intercooler. Has anyone had any experience with the system? Give me your ideas.

Tanks Marc

Can you even get the Ntercooler for $450 installed? I don't know if it'll work that well considering the stock intercooler already has a water spray.

For $450, i'll probably get an intake and downpipe, or an SAFC-II. Then when you get your next $450, get a Helix catback.

I'll save that $450 for 15k mile check up at the dealer. But that's just me thinking about the resell documentation...

or you could try Design Engineering's Cryogennic (Cry02) products. They have intercooler spray, fuel rail, and air intake. The intercooler sprayer vents liquid C02 instead of Nitrous onto your intercooler. Supposed to be a 50% temp decrease and safer. Plus C02 is a lot cheaper to replenish than Nitrous Oxide.

Plus if you decide to get all three you can daisy chain them together to run off one C02 tank.

Cryo2 system is more than $450 tho. You have to get the base system which is about $400, plus intercooler and intake cooler runs $200~$300 each.

that's roughly $600 to $700 on parts only without the installation fee.

I'm really really interested in that tho...

You think Co2 would be better than N2O?

Liljapnboy and I looked at the system...it seems like it should be mounted after the MAF and before the turbo. I have doubts about its effectiveness in a turbo car since the turbine is going to significantly heat up the air temperature. If one can install it somewhere before the throttle body, then it might work better.

You're in illinois. Get all weather tires if you don't already have them. That way they'll already be there to swap on soon as the temp drops this fall.

WTF? There are so many things wrong with this statement in conjunction to CO2 it's scary. CO2 is only for external use!

For $450 I would go with a Downpipe and boost gauge.

I think you misunderstood. The device uses CO2 to cool down the air going into the intake manifold, not sending carbon dioxide to the engine. It's shaped like a coke can on the outside and has a small bullet-looking thing that's connect to the CO2 tank. When activated, the gas turns this bullet ice-cold, which cools down the surrounding air within the intake piping.

I doubt its effectiveness in a turbo car, simply because it doesn't lower the intercooler temperature (has nothing to do with it). With a normally aspirated engine, you may feel a more significant differenece.

Feel free to contribute, challenge, or elaborate on the "external use" theory.
