Almost made an offer on an '03 Evo last night

I drove a brand new (100 miles) red Evo last night, and they really wanted to move it. They offered it to me for $27k (that one or the silver one parked next to it, which I liked better actually). As some of you know, I've been toying with the idea of saving some money in car payments, and trading the Z06 in on it. Since I'd be trading in a more expensive car, there would be no sales tax either. The crappy part is that they were saying their "competitive" offer for my Z06 was right on........I thought it was *way*, way low. I'd end up saving a little over $8k. If they would've given me what my Z06 was worth, I might have considered it. I'd still have a great car, and my payments would substantially drop. Do you think that's a good price for the '03 Evo? Both of them had the wing and sunroof. Thanks for any input.

Good price, but you should try to keep your Z06.

So they offered 35k on the z06? That's not so bad IMO. About a month ago I did an ad for the local Chevy dealer and they were advertising a new one for $39.9.

::edit:: Sorry, it was $40,198. Close enough >=)

$35k and change.

I had an offer for $38k two months ago, and I still thought that was just so-so. Book says $43k retail and $38k wholesale. I'd say $39k is a fair offer. I'd probably take $38k though.

I might just keep the Z06. I love the car. It was just a money saving thing....and the Evo being what it is, is a sweet way to save.

Oh well. I can't complain too much about a car that runs 12.4s at almost 117mph stock with a 2.1 sixty foot.
