Big Problem!!!!!!!!!!
oooh ooooooh I know wait till 2009 for the 09 Evo MR GTA edition and try to talk down to all that have paved the way with the 2003's about a car that hasn't come out yet. seriously I would say that buying an evo is cool if you want a project car, cause the bastard will have problems. if you want something that you will be happy with stock or close to stock than get an Sti.

Mix it up with STi's and EVO, so you can actually compare and compete with eachother. No 350z or S2000. Stay with EVO and STI, but not all the same cars. As u see everyone thinks its gay. Me, I personally think you will get bored of your car fast after seeing one evertime u go out with your friends.
As far as the group buy thing goes. Dealeships are not going to sell you a car or cars for less that invoice less incentives and rebates. Invoice is what the dealer pays with the exception of what is basicly a year end "rebate" My point is that if you are getting 1 or 10 of them you will basicly get the same price.
If you want to order a car in the options/color of your choice you should keep shopping untill you get it for invoice or something close to invoice. Selling a car as soon as it rolls off the truck has financial advantages to the dealership. Unless you are looking for a car with limited availability or you just have to be the very first one to have a particular model you can buy at or near invoice.
Some advice if you got to have a MR or car ordering in general. First look at your market. Are there a lot of EVO's around? Did your local dealership sell a lot of them, or do they still have '03's on the lot? This strategy will work right now, because mitsu is taking dealer commitments for 05 cars right now(based on info on this board)
- Lots of evo's around. Go talk to the sales manager and tell him that you want to order the car, but you want to save some money. Let them know that you dont have to have the first one off the truck. They will probably deal with you if you are willing to leave some kind of deposit. Get them to aggree that you will get you deposit back if the car is not delivered by a certain date. They are not going to sell their first arrivals at cost, because they know some moron will come in and pay over list for the thing.
- No evo's around, and they didnt sell any 03's or still have them around. Should be easy once you convince them that you really really dont want their left over inventory. This lets them sell a car that they never would have ordered for inventory. Basicly a extra unit for 05 that they have zero risk on.
Dont fall for any limited availablity BS. Right now, Mitsu is asking dealers how many units they are willing to commit to taking. Mitsu will build as many cars as they can sell. If you are serious about buying an 05 now is the time to order.
As a post script; I've developed a good relationship with the local mitsu sales manager, and am waiting for my 04 car to arrive (
screwed me on this deal, but thats another story) If you want to order an 05, PM me and I'll give you his contact info. Remember, you can buy a car from one dealership and have it delivered to another. Also, if you are looking for a black or yellow 03 in the south (Louisiana) please PM me, because this dude is stuck with them and he really is one of the good guys
