That was the last time my Evo went anywhere other than my garage, or my companies secluded parking lot.

If it's not time to move out of thug central, then it's time to move out of the apartments youre in - or get a garage if they offer it.
well, the first incident was here at my apt.

the second was at my Gf's GF's house, in an even nicer town.

i dont think its ghetto people who do this, i think it's suburban white boy eminem wannabe's. perhaps they hate that they drive mommy's accord and would rather key an Evo than work hard to buy one.

I dread the day something happens to my car.
I can't stand how people park next to me at the far end of the parking lot when there’s plenty of spaces every where else.
I consider my self a decent person, but if ever catch any one vandalizing my car ill make sure they end up swallowing there own teeth.. Even if she is 12!

Bite the curve b**ch.

i see it too. a lot of erratic driving around the evo. passers who pull in front then needlessly change in to your lane. or people passsing then leaving their turn signals on as if to get in to your lane, or they change lanes halfway then go back, or people using a left turn signal to do a right lane change. when people start yelling or asking stupid questions I start picking my nose and wiping the boogers on my side view mirror, that usually makes people want to move away.

lately I've noticed a lot of blind spot drivers, they suck, but I started pulling the "Crazy Ivan" when that happens, a sudden swerve towards them will usually persuade them to move away.

basicly acting drunk or being disgusting is really effective when trying to repell haters.

Well, if you wanna stay out of troubles and don't want your car to get vandalized. I think it would be a great idea to look for another apartment. Apartment whose majority tenants are senior citizen or old people is a safe place. By that, you know that those old people won't vandalize your property.

moral of the story:

Don't buy a 30k+ car if you don't have a closed garage to store it in.

Ditto. Nice neighborhood or not, having a garage gives a better peace of mind.

thankfully i have a driveway to park my car in. the parts that gets me paranoid is when i go to the mall, movie, restaruant, etc...especially when i'm there for an extended period of time. a kid i know got his windshield smashed his first week owning the evo at the theater parking lot. if people can't have it, they'll hate. they'll do whatever so they'll feel that their riced-out ride is better than yours. if i ever catch anyone vandalizing my car, that person's going to lose and arm.

have your ever consider the fact that maybe they hate you and not the car?

Maybe you've pissed them off and you know however wrong to mess with other person's car is, it happens.

Maybe you should keep a low profile and if you talked shlt before, you should stop?

Just my thought, because I have few friends who's gone through that and it's mostly because they're cocky whenever they're out with their car.

I'm damned fortunate to have a garage and work/socialize in nicer though not ultra-nice neighborhoods in a fairly calm town.

But, what comes to mind is some alarm systems I've heard of that can detect when folks are even *close* to your ride. Get within so many feet and the horn beeps a short beep... I'm sure they're tune-able and the type, length, etc. of the alarm could be modified, but it might deserve consideration.

I think the vid surveillance is the best option however... *NodNod*

I need to have a voice programmable alarm that you could record your personal voice onto.

I'll have a woman screaming and yelling "RAPE!" whenever someone is trying to get into the car. that outta show those SOB's.

lol.

TurboCake... my advice is this... don't get rid of the Evo. If you had a BMW, or a Porsche, you'd get keyed too. If you get rid of the evo, the terrorists win!
