i went to the hempstead dealer in new york for service on my car today... i was having problems with the car... 2nd gear grinded a lot and downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, there was a metal sound and a feeling on the clutch pedal everytime u do it.. so i told them and they said alright we'll look at it

i pick up my car at 5 and the car is totally messed up... anytime i hit 3rpms a loud sound kicks in, like something is rattling and everytime i go higher in the rpms... it gets way louder... the car feels slower and the noise makes the car sound like its about to break... the car also stalled 5 times on my way home... its like destroyed i have no idea what those idiots did to it..

so im posting to explain how angry i am and im going back tomorrow to have them fix whatever the hell they did..

 

So why did you go home instead of back there?

 

i picked it up as they were closing, by the time i got back there they would of been closed... it was madness today, there was a huge storm, traffic was out the *** and half the street lights werent working so it was total chaos

so im bringing it back tomorrow

i just dont understand what the hell they did to make it like this

 

you might want to try sunrise misubishi on sunrise hwy right where southern state and sunrise meet there pretty good over there

You blew off, or they blew off, an intercooler hose-pipe- fitting somewhere. Check the plumbing and make sure everything is together. This has happened several times to people on here, even myself. Car shakes like it's about to fall to peices. Loud rattling sound and no power. Check the intercooler plumbing, you'll find it.

 

I am bringing my Evo to them next week to get the paint chips behind the rear door taken care of. They have been surprisingly pretty competent so far !

 

here at tustin we're pretty lenient when it comes to mods and things. the only way we wont fix something on your car is if its not under warranty anymore or if you mod out a particular part(IE: you replaced the clutch with an HKS, we will not warranty that clutch [unless we sold it and installed it for you])

 

If your talking about Wantagh Mitsubishi, they've always done a good job.. It sounds like one of the intercooler hoses came off.. Did this happen immediately when leaving or when you were driving and had to drive through an immense puddle due to this horrific weather we're having?

 

does anybody knows a good dealership in NY area that does not look into mods as a crime and helps with things?

 

i thought the mitsubishi on sunrise closed... hmm maybe ill have to go there because this hempstead place doesnt look very promising... they also called and asked if i had a receit for my last oil change... i had my last oil change done at valley stream mitsubishi until they closed and moved to inwood... so wouldnt it be in their systems or something?

 

Did you check the IC piping like suggested? Like already stated, it sounds just like you described.

 

they told me its internal engine problems and now there looking into it and its going to take a few days.... are u kidding me... i left the car there for a few hours got it back and now i have internal engine damage? this has to be a joke, is there anything i can do about this?

 

They sound pretty incompetent. I would refrain from taking it back to them again.
