Looks like JF1GD2 may not be getting an EVO based on your paint horror stories. 1 less potential EVO owner.

The paint on my EVO is equal to that of the paint on my Honda and Subaru. They are all equally as thin. I take good care of my cars and keep a good coat of wax on them at all times so I don't have many paint problems, but I do know the Jap cars have very thin paint nowadays. Visit the other car's forums and you'll see everyone complains about their cars paint no matter if it is a Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda, or what....

i heard starting in 2003 us passed a bill stating that we couldn't use certain chemicals in our car paint anymore. i am not doubting that the paint layers are thin and crappy to save cost, but im pretty sure its because we have to use these new paints that arent as strong.

yeah... some curing chemicals are banned, especially in us and some internationally. they could put more effort into producing a better paint but of course that would cost more, so... no effort you get the poopy paint, but the car underneath is what counts right?
