the "air dams" are brake air guides... I have a set i've shortend by 1- 1.5 inches to provide better ground clearance for lowered cars. they sit pretty low, but work well. If your interested in them PM me.

Are these the factory Mitsubishi guides, modified by you?

yes factory guides modded by me.. i actually have two sets, one is stock one is shorted.. I was going to use them with some coilovers, but never bought them. So i figured instead of them sitting here doing nothing i'd see if anyone wanted them.

if you cut the air guide part, doesn't that defeat the purpose of having one in the first place? It looks like the curved part is what helps guide the air. If you cut it off, then it just becomes like a air wall.

it will reduce some air flow.. but if u notice the channels under the front end, that is what directs air at these guides... the guides simplely direct all that air at the calipers...

When it all comes down to it, yes it helps out more then nothing, and no it isn't as effiecent as the whole guide... but when you lower the front end 2 inches these things come close to sitting on the ground. As it is now they are roughly 4 inchs from the ground... if needed I can go take measurements for everyone.. not a problem at all...
