New Evo Owner...

Just wanted to say hello... i was checking these boards for a while, and finally, finally got my baby... '04 BBY with the leather package... i know i know... leather doesn't belong on racing seats... but man, i couldn't resist it, especially since i told the dealer i didn't want leather and left the dealership and hung up the phone on them enough times for them to give me more for my trade and knock off money on the car to even it out...

gonna order up my first set of mods within' the next couple days too... prolly the Greddy Ti cat-back, perrin test pipe, helix dp (if it all bolts up nicely together, and yeah, i know about spacers for the tie-bars) , injen intake and ic pipe kit, and i already have a S-AFC and Hallman Pro mbc sitting in the garage...

oh yeah... i soooo love this car... i'm all about windy roads, and this thing is a god-send to me ok... i'm off my rant...

Congrats on the purchase Sounds like you also landed a sweet deal by playing with the dealer's mind hehe.. the leather is definitely more unique than the cloth recaros; i love the leather seats myself, but I truly think that since the leather comes as a package with the subwoofer and sunroof, the extra weight will bring more negatives than positive (for me, at least). Hehe dont get me wrong though, you got yourself a nice EVO with all the luxury/comfort/entertainment. On your future mod goals, I do suggest the HKS exhaust over the greddy, mainly because of the matching downpipe that HKS offers. Perhaps we are on a different budget, but I would highly suggest saving $$ to get an extra set of rims and tires, and set money aside for that aftermarket clutch... if both the stock tires and clutch goes at the same time (roughly 9000 to 10000 miles for most people on here), it must be costly to replace them both. Anyways, see you around, and have fun with your new toy

How much did you pay? Congrats on the purchase! I'm sure you'll love it. Post up some pics of the interior

thanks guys...

as far as the stereo goes... it's def ok unless you're an audiophile... all i plan on doing is swapping out the deck... the subs ok, and easily removeable supposedly (didn't get to look at it close yet, can't stop driving yet... ) so i can pull it out and throw on the rear stb whenever i'd decide to run it at the track...

the sunroof, well, that's something i have to have unfortunately... something psychological that i don't feel as confined then...

i paid, without the added money for my trade, $31,869 out the door foresay, and with the added diff to make up the other half of that option, $30,594 in actuality... then the rest of my trade in... so i guess i can't complain...

i also thought the same as far as clutch and tires... i have money set aside for some Toyo Proxes T1-S's and for that nice Exedy twin-disk set up

my friend used to have an HKS carbon catback on his Eclipse, and i liked the sound, but then i heard the Greddy on one of my buddies '03 Evo and fell in love with it plus it made a decent difference in power for him, and would offset my added sunroof weight... wouldn't the Helix->perrin->Greddy line up right??? if it doesn't, i might have to think about another set up...

and here's a crappy pic of the interior... the thing that's pretty cool is they match up the rear seats and door panels to the leather recaro's nicely...

omg Im in love with you seats... For those who don't think they belong in a performance car you need to sit in a Ferrari sometime (I would agree on nixing them for a race car). Darn I shouldn't have looked. There is only one thing I prefer to the feel and smell of leather in my car but I will be a gentleman.

enjoy your new ride, be sure to save some money on the side for new clutch and all season tires if you will hit snow... no joke about stock tires in snow... - well i got 17.5K on my car still on stock tires and clutch, just changed SS clutchline - enjoy your new car and do a research before you buy anything, HKS catback is way to go with downpipe and test pipe - safc, mbc, and get K&N i think intake is a waste of money you can also get lower intercooler piping ..upper one flows fine right now iam on stage 1+ and iam more then happy to keep it like this for a while...... enjoy your car and be easy on the clutch when you go from red light ))

thanks guys...

just the front seats are leather... the back is not... i dont think the armrest is leather neither...

yep... Blizzaks all the way for winter...

and does the SS clutch line make that big of a diff??? that's the one thing i don't like now is the very vague engagement... if it'd remedy a bit of that, i'll pick one up...

and now, i'm swaying to the Helix dp and tp, and Greddy ti... decisions, decisions...

and i live about 1 to 1 and a half hours away pending on traffic from philly... i live in a small city near Wilkes-Barre... i do want to hit up south street again, haven't been there for a while, and stop by Larry's for a cheesesteak............... *drool*
