My dads evo8 has the ralliart piping kit on his, and no modification was needed as its all bolt on job.
One problem encountered was that it came with a larger compressor outlet pipe which meant the standard one needed to be taken off, and to get it off we had to remove the radiator to make enough room to get a spanner in there.
Other than that it was all bolt on.

We took our time so we took ages, it was a day job though.
As for worth it I wouldn't know as I haven't driven his evo8 enough before we put the kit on to tell if there was a difference but he was happy with it.

it's not required... the question is how expensive is it and you don't wanna know the answer to that one. the comp outlet is the most worth it part of the kit as it's the best made one that is available anywhere.

the smaller battery is def required because my friend has it. Also you will need constant tourqe(t-bolt) clamps to hold the pipes on because they will blow off with the stock clamps

If you are concerned about the price, the helix IC pipes will work with the stock battery and air box
