I hate hearing certain people play it off like it's all fine and good to wait months and months longer than expected
I don't play it off like it's all fine, but you have got to understand that being the 1st ALWAYS takes longer. You've never been the 1st at making or developing something? It ALWAYS takes longer than usual. I knew this ever since I bought my Evo back early march. I am thankful that I am getting my car any day now as opposed to early next year, many of my friends were doubting I'd get it this year. But when you want a car so badly, you ARE willing to wait extra time.
Yeah, gvr4v spent $36.5K on his car, and more for additional mods. Heck, I am spending over $4K on additional mods too. But guess what? finding the right vendor in Japan and coordinating the whole deal ALSO takes time. Thankfully, the order is being packaged as we speak and will be sent out late this week.
Just because gvr4v has been bashing EI because he's very upset doesn't grant you power to destroy EI, telling fellow members you thought I'd work for EI, and making us buyers look naive.
Again, I suggest you refrain from making comments unless you know the full facts, and not bits and pieces.
Cheers

and went to pick up the car. Very friendly people there, they picked me up from the station although it was late Friday afternoon, gave me a few papers and even showed me the way to the highway to drive back home
I did the legalization here myself, and believe me, it was a nightmare!
The car came with an invoice and a piece of paper saying "the car with the chassis number XXXXXXX was manufactured on May 12, 2000 in Japan." Now go try and register that!
A car from Japan, an invoice from the UK, no technical data whatsoever! I had to explain why I did not want to pay the VAT twice (once to the customs, and once more to the intra European VAT office!); to do that, I had to write, believe it or not, to the Secretary of State for Finance!! And I got a letter back from him!!!You know, when you have done it yourself, been inundated with papers and problems and letters and the like, you are a lot more understanding of why this type of thing takes time.
From your perspective, you pay for a car, and you havent got it. You dont give a damn what they have to do; you paid for it and you want it. While I totally understand that, please try and understand the other side: the hassle, the papers, the problems, the delays, administration, checks, the whole lot. That stuff takes time and doesnt happen just like that. In the light of my own problems, I understand all too well what EI are faced with, and it aint no pleasure, seriously.
I hope you now understand a little better of how much **** you have to deal with in these situations and that you do not go on implying that EI are not good-willing, because we do not know that.
I hope you all get your Evos soon

Take care
Claudius
