chipped window...fix ideas?
Never had a window chipped like this, i got hit by a rock on the interstate yesterday, and it made a tiny chip and it then made a small spider web looking fracture underneath the chip. Anyoneknow of a way to get this looking back to normal?

Even if you get it repaired there will be a slight blemish. However, the repair should stop it spreading. I don't believe they will repair it if the spot is directly in your line of view or if it's bigger than a Dime (I think). There is no real way that I know of to get a flawless repair though so you'll need to get the windcreen replaced if it's bugging you that much. Insurance should cover the cost of the repair (about $70).
There is a liquid glass repair from various different places. The one's they fixed looked brand new.
It's cheaper than replacing the window and it wont put a small claim on your insurance.

and you just have to call some window tinting place or pep boys or some of the bodyshop to find out about the window repair.

Incidentally, I had my Evo windshield repaired for a rock chip and it's pretty nasty. You can see it from a few feet away.

I got the "liquid glass repair" done to my windshield a few months ago. There was a chip where the rock hit and a bunch of spider cracks about the size of a quarter all around it. It cost $40 to have the guy come out to my house and repair it. It took about 15 min from start to finish. The spider cracks are completely invisible, but there is still somewhat of a noticeable chip there (you can really only see it when the sun shines straight through the windshield....the guy said this would still be there after he was done). I'll take this over the cracks and having to install a whole new windshield anyday!
