the bumper support is a stainless steel bar that goes across the bumper, covering near top of the IC.... the support has a hole, so it cant be easily seen with the oem bumper on... it weighs about 15-20 lbs but no, it wont save you from a big crash

Do you mean the front bumper or the rear bumper? The front bumper on a J-spec EVO8 us the same as a US EVO8. However, the rear bumper is a bit different on a j-spec EVO8 vs a US EVO8, they do not stick out as far.

I'm pretty sure that he means the Evo 7 front bumper.

He is talking about the rear bumper. the rear bumper is fatter in US version due to safety reason.

yes im talking about the US-spec Evo 8 rear bumper. I guess if you can make it fit without much gap and looks clean then it should be ok Has anyone changed their yet, any pics on the j-spec bumper installed?

Yeah, I've seen one with them on it.. Front and rear bumpers.. They guy told me that he had to remove the metal bumper from underneath the skin to keep it... Honestly... Looked like caca....
