I plan on changing out my spark plugs...but I'm going to wait another 3k for the driveline....and coolant.
Hey otter...please explain this clutch test more...it doesn't make sense to me.

Screw the dealership! Take a to a performance shop that you trust and have it done if you don't have time to do it yourself. I took it to a performance shop that I know very well and they did all the fluid change at about the same price. And that's with Redline products. With that price, all the dealer does is check this check that and don't even change anything.

I bought all the fluids myself & my 15K service cost $21- including genuine
filter. My dealership does those checks regardless, and I do mostly freeway driving so I'm not on severe duty. However, I did go back & have them swap out the driveline fluids. I went with the normal
GL-4 oil for the main tranny, and bought my own Mobil-1 75W90 for the center and rear diffs, and a $5 bottle of LSD friction modifier from the parts counter. So, $40 total labor (tranny oil was free) to swap out all 3 gearboxes. I haggle and nickel and dime my way out of every possible expense, cross referencing everything and doing a line item veto on things that I know are complete bull****. For instance, they wanted to charge me $180 just for the fluids...I was like eh...no... lol They said the most expensive stuff was the rear diff fluid, it was some "exotic" stuff...so I had the
tech look it up for me, it lists tons of alternatives, not the least being normal cheap hypoid gear oil + friction modifier (which they would have used anyway, but charged me for the "exotic stuff" I was later told by the tech. I went with the good Mobil1 synthetic stuff and still saved about $140 on fluids lol.
Moral of the story: It's just about guaranteed that any dealer, anywhere, anytime, is going to charge you their customary, extremely high, unreasonable price unless you question it, bargain with them, etc. If you do a little homework you can knock a lot of the price down, and then they will normally give you a fleet discount if you really wear them down.

I change my oil way more frequent than that hopefully you do too as for the radiator coolent etc shouldn't have to do that so often. Brakes you can get any tire place to look at for free usually tire rotation should be done every 5k miles usually costs like 20 bucks
According to Mitsu my first tuneup is not till 30k miles so yea hope that helps ya out

I follow the recommended scheduled maintenance, but I do swap out my oil myself just before certain :ahem: days if you know what I mean. However, the recommended scheduled maintenance of 5K miles under normal duty (freeway cruising to & fronm work, etc) is more than adequate. Mobil1 doesn't suffer viscosity break down even a fraction of the amount dino juice does. The main thing you need to worry about is contamination and the breakdown of the detergent package. Real light-duty driving doesn't do this very fast. I've even read about a recent study that discovered people that change their oil too frequently suffer more wear on their engine than people who follow the suggested schedule. It didn't conclude why, but it's interesting nonetheless and suggests at the very least changing your oil too frequently is simply a waste of money, and could possibly be detrimental. Also, just because your oil looks dirty doesn't mean it's bad, it just means your detergency package is working. The detergents don't normally reach the saturation point until well after it is dark in color. Originally Posted by Sentinal

So, save your hope for something/someone else

Synthetic Oil Change
Brake & Clutch Inspection
Coolant Flush and Refill
Tire Rotation
Fuel, Oil & Air Filter Change
Basically a pretty comprehensive servicing, but costs $239!
Before you reply with "do it yourself", I really don't have the time with three cars, a full time job and new house. Does it seem reasonable?
Thanks!
Well i have the pit pass program, and i think those things are includedOriginally Posted by Google
I am just trying to gauge what others paid for their 15,000 Evo maintenance. Around here this service consists of:Synthetic Oil Change
Brake & Clutch Inspection
Coolant Flush and Refill
Tire Rotation
Fuel, Oil & Air Filter Change

sounds about right, since you're getting the coolant replaced ($75~$100), oil change($60~$80), and tire rotation ($50 or so) and air filter ($15) oil filter($6) and fuel filter($?) + labor.
Hell, I think you got a deal. lol

The deal when i bought the car was the free oil changes so long as I got all my scheduled maintenance performed at recommended intervals and paid for it... So if figured it would be $200 or so, and would still be kinda worth it if they gave me 3 free oil changes (which would be about $50-60 if I actually paid someone to change it)
I love my dealership..
Did you buy your car from Huggins Mitsubishi? Originally Posted by PSI Tex
