Evo 7 was debuted last year for the first time in Jan 02 at the LA auto show @ Staples center. That's when Gagnon announced that EVO 8 would be here in Jan 03. That was a year ago, so the actual date has been a moving target.

I just got back from the Anaheim Autoshow. No Evo, but I did get a chance to talk with all the Mitsu Reps, individually. Each one of them told me 271 BHP, AWD, Turbo, FMIC, and under $30K. However, there will not be AYC/ACD. One of the reps did say however to wait for it. His words were, "No chance this year, but wait a bit." I also asked them if it was the same thing that was debuted at the LV dealer thingy. Most of them didn't know, but one did tell me that it is basically the same with a few minor chances. He mentioned the front facia and hood, but he didn't go into detail. Also, every rep said that it will be debuted in the LA autoshow in Jan, and that it will be called the EVO VIII. I asked them about the Mitsubishi Evolution, and they assumed that I was asking about the car they always bring to shows. So they told me that Mitsu stopped producing the VII, however the VIII will be in America in Janurary. I know this is all just rumor...but lets hope for the best.

screw mitsubishi i bet ya they are savinv ayc/acd to counter STI
shiet i guess i'll have to wait a extra year for the real thing or spend 10k more a JDM spec, Adam save me an EVO7!!!!!!!
no ayc/acd evo is nothing special just a 4 wheel drive cedia turbo ........puffffff
Nice recon, SPEED
, too bad about the AYC/ACD.
Could this be a blessing in disguise???
- AYC/ACD is probably super expensive to fix.
Picture this - I buy my new EVo 8, and juice it up right away with a few "essential mods", cause I can't wait to spank that Cobra down the block. (mods = no warranty)
Anyway, a couple of burnouts later, my tranny is acting up. I gotta go to the dealer cause no one else has the technical service bulletins or the computer scanners to work on AYC/ACD.
Does anyone have any idea what it costs to get the car running again????????
$3,000 , $5,000.
in parts!!!! + labor!?
Well, why didn't I just keep it stock?
Picture this - I buy my new EVo 8, 2 months after my warrenty is up (and a couple of burnouts later,)

This could pose a slight problem.
