Reasons to trade in for an EVO?

Hi everyone. I currently own a 2003 daytona blue 350z touring. Love the car to death, but have seriously been thinking about trading it in for a blue evo...What are your guy's top reasons on why i should do the trade? For me, the only 2 real reasons are that i need the back seat and my insurance would go down...but, i just think the Z is so much more classier. Tell me what u guys think!

Im not going to give you list of reasons and this post probably wont be much help. However, I will say that I traded my silver 350 in for the EVO and I have never looked back.

350 is classier, but evo is more enjoyable to drive.

350z slow for that money (not all season car)
S2000 (not for winter)
01 s4 sweet car, you might run into a lot of troubles

I would trade for the following reasons:

The Evo is clearly a faster car.
The Evo handles better. (Z is no slouch)
The Evo stops better (yes, even with the track pack)
The Evo steering feel is much better (Z is pretty good too)
The Evo is far more practical.
The Evo is just as good looking (obvious opinion here)
The Evo has better abilities in inclement weather.
The Evo responds to mods MUCH better.
The Evo is more exclusive (you won't see yourself comming and going)

I test drove both the 350Z and G35 quite extensively and really liked them, but the Evo won me over due to my OPINIONS stated above. I know guys that have gone the other way when it came time to choose.

My decision to get the evo was reinforced when a guy in a well modded 350z said to me at the road course after we had some fun laps "holly **** that thing is fast, what do you have done to it?"

My response "it's just flashed, everything else is stock"

Take that for what it's worth but it is quite the beast on the track (the main reason I bought it)

350Z's are a dime a dozen, Evo's are rare(at least where I'm from)

I do like the 350Z track edition's 18" Rays Engineering wheels though. Those things make it look so nice, especially on a black one. It all depends on what you plan on using your car for. The 350Z would make a better daily driver. There are a lot of hills in my area. Having a 3.5L V6 would sure be nice. Too bad it's only a 2 seater w/ a small trunk.

I drove a 350Z before I bought my EVO I also drove a Cobra, STi, RX-8, SRT-4, S2000, BMW 325i. Here is what I really liked about the EVO

Recaro seats
Incredible suspension.
very quick off the line.
Room for 4-5 people
has a decent trunk.
AWD is awesome with limited slip front to back and side to side
Brembo brakes
True HID lights
Easy to see out of (worst part of the 350Z)
It handled great in snow rain wind sun you name it Ive driven through it
Easy to modify and work on.
Very practical daily driver car.

I guess classy means chick magnet to this dude. If you need a car that has chick written all over it keep the 350z. It is relatively fast and handles well. But if want a car that is viewed by many women as fugly and others as probably not very fast and just okay looking get the Evo. The best part is the look on peoples face after the roller coaster ride they experience when I take them for a spin. They have no idea what the car is capable of by its aesthetic appearance. Most before the test ride wonder why you bought such a car over a pretty 350z or RX-8 but after the Evocoaster they wonder no more. It is like owning your own personal rollercoaster to be used on demand.

Go drive an Evo...you decide....

depends on what you are looking for.... the 350z is probably about the same speed from a roll (Evo's win's in Qtr mile from a dead stop)..... 350z is definately a more pleasant ride (evo is harsh, but rewarding).... 350Z is heavier by about 200lbs....350Z doesn't mod nearly as cheaply and easily.

I don't mind the harsh ride of the evo....i can put my entire family in and go drive in 4-5" of snow with no problems..... 13.4 in the Qtr totally stock, good at Auto-X (good enough to beat all the PCA boys anyway), good at roadcourse stuff, etc....

you do know the only reason the evo has lower insurance is your insurer does not know the difference between the lancer and the evo besides the price.. they will all catch on.... my insurance from a Z to an evo was a $200 difference annually, but just stating the fact that it is more expensive... most of it is in the parts, the Z has more parts bin stuff while evo is more specialized (turbos, IC etc)

but seriously.... i had a 2003 black 350z and i loved it... u sure u want to trade it in for an evo? i mean sometimes i still regret not keeping the Z, except when it snows... the power and especially the handling totally eclipses the evo but the Z has the looks that i wanted... oh well guess i cant have the cake and eat it too

I looked at both cars. The main reason I went with the EVO was due to insurance. I was (and still am a Nissan nut), but dealing with Nissan North America was a f*cking joke, and I bet teh Z is a very difficult car to maintain. My insurance was half what I was paying for a 4 door Sentra, and almost $1,000 less a year for the Z. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy the EVO VIII again! The other thing that sold me was not many women drive EVO, not that it's a bad thing, but, Z's are everywhere, and most people wo drive them are not car enthusiasts.
