Insurance

Hey what's the insurance like on an EVO? What is everyone paying monthly and what does it cover? I wanna know if it's worth it. I've seen a lot of people on here trying to sell their EVO because they said it costs too much to own...

i got quoted from geico.com for $254.61/month or $3055.32/year (not sure that includes any taxes) w/ normal coverage. but then again im 20 and have a ticket in the past 5years. but it doesnt seem that expensive, especially since i got the same quote for my car. weird.

This is 100% true, it shure is no civic. People think they can just buy this car and forget about insurance, maintenance, and Gas(Ohh does it drink gas like a ****) in their finanial equation.

Car insurance depends on so many factors that the best answer you'll get is by getting quotes from insurance companies. Seeing how much other people pay is not going to help you.

lol you people would probably call me a liar but I pay $97/month full coverage with $500 deductable. I am only 21 years old with a perfect record (4 accidents, not my fault) and 1 speeding ticket (traffic school, wiped off the rec.). I have group discount because my family has a total of 6 cars, good student discount(3.0avg or higher), some other type of discount... $97.00/mo - I might be wrong but I think this covers my mr2 as well. All my friends even the ones with civics/accords pay $1k or 2k more than I do... it's crazy..

oh and I live in the heart of Los Angeles...

Depending on how old you are and if you have a house or multiple cars and ect. Everyone will have different results. I'm over 30, own a house, married, kids, multiple cars, pretty clean driving record for this year and have decent credit. I pay $450 every 6 months, full coverage with 150,000 comprehensive and 250 deductable. Now if I were to step into a two door car, for example:RSX-S, it would cost about $150 more every 6 months. Why? Because it's a two door car(considered sports car). An 03 cobra would cost $250 more every 6 months. I can't believe I saved $80 dollars every 6 months going from a WRX to the EVO.

I've got Geico and pay roughly $2600 a year for my EVO and a '91 Accord Coupe. Before I got the EVO I payed about $130 a month for the Honda. If I just had the EVO, probably between $150 and $200. Not bad for two cars in Philly. I'm also 29 years old.
