parts express sells lots of generic lcd panels for head rest mounts & stuff like that.

crutchfield is a good place to start looking for indash fold out units. you should be able to figure out what you want to spend there and then start looking for bettter prices.

www.earthlcd.com is another good source

I was about to say www.earthlcd.com too, but thats for straight modules alone, and they can be pricy. What I've done is simply gone onto ebay searching for "tft lcd" and i bought a 4" module (module = just the screen and control board, no housing or mount) for about $60 thats served me very well. you can find lots of retailers selling some screens on ebay and follow their links back to their pages and order from there too.

if you're not planning on mounting it flush in a panel , or in the headrest or visor, i suggest you dont go with a module, and buy an enclosed screen and mount it where you want. a module b/w 6-7" should run you b/w $150-$200. add another 50 for an enclosed screen. I know that Pyle offers an inexpensive in dash (not motorized) 5"screen with a built in fm and tv tuner for around $230. if you have a double din, you could mount that with your existing head unit, b/c i assume the sound quality isnt great. whatever you decide to do I reccomend you mount it in a spot where the sun wont hit it, as the glare makes it hard to see and decreases the life of the screen, and mount it in a way where you can easliy hide it, or take it with you. when I had mine in my jeep (easily opend from outside), I cut a panel out of my dash, put a pivot along its center, and mounted the screen on the back, so you could flip it open or closed easily when leaving the car parked, or when driving by a policeman. (not that i ever have, just uh, hypothetically)

hope this helps, let me know if you still have questions.

I have a friend with the clarion dvd/folding lcd screen. It's pretty sweet. He hooked it to a trunk mounted dvd changer also. too bad those damn things are soo small and soo expensive.
